today is the day i was born.

Today's my birthday.
It's nice to know that I've gotten 365 days older. [:
I would tell you my exact age, but due to my unmatchable sense of paranoia, I won't.
Because you can never be sure if someone's just reading this blog to get my Social Security Number.

I got a bunch of food.
My friend Katrina gave me some cookies.
And Alison made me these great cupcakes.

The white one on the right is supposed to say "winning!". (Do I need to explain?)
The one directly below that was made to look like ramen in a pot.
Since we both agree that making ramen in a pot is superior to preparing it in a microwave.

Aren't those the coolest things ever?
I think so.

Life is good.

i love ice cream.

Ice cream has healing powers.
I feel like ice cream could cure cancer one day.
Not really, but it's amazing how much better you feel after eating it.

And ice cream is always there for you when you need it.
Waiting in the freezer next to the microwavable dinners, just waiting for you to have a bad day so it can cheer you up.

I'm not saying you should go on an ice cream binge.
Actually that's counter effective.
Because if you have a whole bucket, the only thing that's accomplished is you feeling like a pig. And when you're eating ice cream, you're looking for a positive boost of emotions.
Not one where you feel fat.
So when you're eating, you need to have that perfect amount.
One where you feel pleasantly full, but not chubby.

And if you have toppings, kudos to you. Toppings make everything better.

weekly obsessions.

So, I'll start doing this too.
Since I'm that loser who follows what everyone else does.
Or because I'm that winner who can spot trends. Heh.

Fuzzy Socks:
I bought a pair of these purple and yellow fuzzy socks. And they have the little grippy things on the bottom.
Best. Things. Ever.

Panic! at the Disco:
Their new album, Vices and Virtues came out on 3/22/11. And it's all I've been listening to this past week.
This is my favorite song from the album. It's called Memories. Go take a look.

Naming Things:
I named my bassoon Louis. (Lou-ee: Like the French name)
I named by violin Sheila.
I named my favorite waterbottle Pablo.
And I named my Spanish binder Jake.

Grape Juice:
I drank way too much of this stuff.
I swear, if I keep going at this pace my pee will turn purple.
Too much information? Yikes, sorry about that.

Mint Gum:
I've had like twenty packs this week.
It's come to the point that it's slightly unhealthy.

I'll try to do this every Sunday.
Alright, that's it for this week.

made with REAL cheddar cheese.

It makes me sad to see how society has reached the point that products advertise that their cheese products are made with "real cheese".

No actually, they make their cheese crackers with bacon and frosting. And haven't you heard? Cheese products also put dragon tears in it, because they apparently have that cheesy flavor that people love.

3 minute brownies.

Today, there was nothing to eat in our fridge.
So I decided to make something instead.
AKA, I threw a few ingredients into a mug and microwaved it.

Here's the recipe for 3 Minute Brownies:

Ingredients:
4 tbsp flour
4 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp cocoa (Add an extra tsp if you're using hot cocoa mix)
1 egg
3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp oil

1.) Mix the flour, sugar, and cocoa together in the mug.
2.) Spoon in the egg.
3.) Pour in the milk and oil, and mix well.
4.) Put the mug with the ingredients into the microwave for 3 minutes.
5.) Let it cool and enjoy!

It actually tasted pretty good.
** I got the recipe from here.

yucky stuff.

All the little things that irk and annoy me.
Enjoy.

1.) Waiters who stand around and watch you eat
2.) The awkward temperature where it's too hot for jeans but too cold for shorts
3.) People who eat ketchup with everything
4.) Unscented things that smell awful
5.) People who chew obnoxiously
6.) Tripping
7.) Bathroom music
8.) Saltshakers that make the salt come out fast, so when you wanted just a tad, you get an entire mountain of salt on your broccoli.
9.) Hearing Christmas carols a month after Christmas. It's not the holidays anymore. SO STOP.
10.) People who think that it's cool to be a total jerk to everyone.
11.) Books that think it's interesting to keep the reader in the dark and not understand a word of what's going on until the author explains everything in the last two pages. I mean, by that time, I really don't care that Sally's a shape shifting bull and actually was the one who killed Jerry, when I didn't even know that Jerry died. (I don't really know how to explain this... Sorry for the awkward wording.)
12.) Pop songs that all sound the same.
13.) When my room gets really messy and I have to clean it.
14.) Being patient.
15.) Waking up with cold feet.

Oh the joys of positivity.

problems with creative bathrooms.

My family ate out after my swim meet today. Mexican, if you were wondering.
And it was pretty good. I had a catfish fajita which was actually delicious.
And then, I had to go to the bathroom to wash my hands.

So, I followed the  bright neon sign indicating "RESTROOM" among the other neon signs on the wall advertising different brands of beer. (I'm not trying to be racist or anything, but I've seriously never been to a Mexican restaurant that didn't have those. You know it's true.)
And I was met with an awkward dilemma.

Instead of having the normal Men and Women signs, they had these two Spanish words emblazoned on each wooden door. They didn't even had those stick figure pictures.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate their attempt at authenticity and creativeness, but I feel that you should clearly indicate which gender each bathroom is which. Just saying.

And yes, I take Spanish. But it's not exactly my best subject, so I still didn't know them. (No, they were not chico or chica.)

So I ended up having to ask a waiter (who actually was Spanish) about which was which.
And after a few seconds of her staring at me clearing saying "Ohmygoodness not another one. When does my shift end?" in her eyes, she told me it was the left one.

Moral of the Story: Please indicate the gender clearly on bathroom doors. <3 Fi
