adios bin laden.

Today in history, we talked about Osama Bin Laden's death.
Which eventually morphed into a discussion about humanity, with most of the people trying to extend our conversation for the duration of the entire class period.
Our air-head of a teacher realized what was going on (half an hour later) and finally led us back into the topic of the Civil War.

I'm not sure how I feel about his death.
I'm certainly happy that he's gone and won't go around bombing any more civilians. But seeing all these celebrations about him dying just feels so incredibly wrong.

You shouldn't have a party because someone died.

I guess I'm too young to really understand what is truly right and wrong.
At this moment, him dying feels right, after the horrible things he did to thousands of people.
But the celebrations feel wrong.

I think I still need some time to think this over.

I agree :D I think that it's kind of wrong to celebrate his death, but it's good he's dead. o.O

I feel the exact same way.

I too concur.
His death comes as a relief, but celebrating the death of someone--good or bad-- isn't really something anyone should do. It seems.. cruel.. even though it is Bin Laden.. I'm not making much sense

true that, lady.

Luke: Thank you so much! [:

Jodie, Furree and Michelle: Phew, it's good to know that I'm not the only person who thinks like that ahaha.

Ashley: No, that actually does make sense.
Like celebrating a death is something that nobody deserves, even if it's someone like Bin Laden.
And I totally agree.

Yes, yes, yes! All day I've had to hear people shouting in celebration and high-fiving and yelling, "Whoo! He's dead!" and it's just...wrong. It gets me sick to my stomach.

Glad someone knows where I'm coming from. :)

I definitely think that you're old enough to understand.
It's the others who need some catching up to do.

Eeshie: I don't even want to turn on our TV because I'm scared of seeing a celebration.
I wish that I could tell people to stop doing it without seeming like someone who supported Bin Laden.

Martin Alexander: That was really deep. [:
And thank you.

i feel the same way. although what saddens me is the fact that even with his death, terrorism will probably still go on. :|

The college kids who are buy the White House ran over to scream & party.
People got in their cars to wave the flag & shout " USA, USA, USA ~ ".
iSay it's not just. But the only people who can just have a moment of celebration are those who lost a loved one due to 9/11 or the war for closure.

Ishashime: That's true. I'm almost 100% sure that the terrorist groups are planning to appoint a new leader, and this will happen all over again.

Zaynab: I agree that the victims of 9/11 should be able to celebrate his death, but not to an extreme.

I actually don't believe he died. I think it's just obamas way to, right before elections and what not, get people liking him again. No offense to Americans or whatever. I just don't believe he died, it was too convinenent.
